Visiting Cabelas

Visiting Cabelas, originally uploaded by northslope.

So, the third largest Cabelas store in the country opened up near us
this last weekend and I made my way out earlier this afternoon.
Entering the store isn’t as intimidating as I was expecting for a
184,000 sq foot retail space, but once you start exploring everything
they’ve got its pretty crazy. Let’s see, the most suprising features
included the indoor archery range, the virtual shooting gallery
(DisneyLand or state fair style) the deli complete with ostrich,
bison, or elk sandwiches, and of course the dozens of “stuffed”
animals from al over the world (including a whole African safari
scene)…. Oh yeah, you could buy stuff there too.

Power outage

Power outage, originally uploaded by northslope.

So, it wasn’t the first this winter and it won’t be the last, but
after an amazing weekend with friends we rushed back home on monday
afternoon in order to relax and enjoy some time at home before out
three day weekend came to a close. We got back home only to be
greeted by a city shadowed in darkness as the power had been out for
hours from a storm that we kinda noticed as we were shopping at IKEA
earlier in the day. Its been almost 36 hours and the power should be
back soon….

Mazatlan with Sarah

Its been a few weeks since we got back from vacation, so what…

Everyone knows how terrible of a blogger I am.  This was one of our last days in Mexico, we were able to catch up with Lydia’s sister who was in town with the cruise ship she works on. Pretty crazy huh?
